There’s a new COVID variant in town, per the internetz.

How can we take anything seriously anymore? I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this on the news. I try to stay away from the news because the perpetual and unending injustice I see splashed all over the pages only enrages me and makes me lose hope in the world.

I am not a COVID denier, quite the opposite, but this is ridiculous. How many variants with clever names are we going to come up with? With the state of the world today COVID is kinda the last thing on my mind, and the least of my worries. The real COVID is happening all around us, every day.

Gun violence, physical and emotional abuse, starving children, dictators and rich men with endless pockets and 0 accountability, news cycles telling us every day all the ways the world is a horrible place, wars everywhere, bullying, school safety, social and economic anxiety, paranoia, a criminal presidential nominee. Pick one. FLiRTING with COVID is not on that list for me.

I am exhausted and crisissed out. And also, just what the fuck?!

When is enough, enough?

Apparently the moon is for sale. Why not, right? Space is. People are. There are no limits to the grand ideas these people have with little to no value to the human race.

We can’t even take care of the people we have on earth, but yeah let’s waste more time, money and resources and put a train on the moon. I can’t even get decent health care, but how exciting it would be to get in our space suits and take a ride on that train? Oh wait, us little peons won’t be able to afford it.

Are you fucking serious? Inchworm robots?

It must have been my lucky day last week because I hadn’t seen a Cybertruck since Elon smashed the window on the thing during his flashy but cringy introduction of his latest and greatest space machine, and then in 24 hours I saw two drive right by me.

This thing is as ugly as his cold, dead heart, but to each his own I guess. I personally would never buy a Tesla or anything this joker is affiliated with. He’s a dangerous billionaire egomaniac who seems to own the world. He’s admired for his brilliance but if you watch any of his interviews, you’ll see what a petty, insecure, vengeful person he is. He says he wants to save the world. No, he wants to own it, and he’s on his way to it.

Last Wednesday I was in a store, waiting my turn when the man in front of me was having a conversation with the clerk about putting a drain in a room to skin a deer. I patiently waited my turn, when I paid for my items I started walking out when the clerk said, “Yeah, I don’t think I’ll get outside today.”

To which I said, “You should, being outside is better than being inside!”

I walked out into the sunny day and began to drive home in happy anticipation to see my children get out of school early because it was the second to last day.

That’s when I saw the first Cybertruck drive in front of me on the way home. The second truck I saw driving near my kids school.

A few hours later my kids were home. My younger son said he was going to go outside.

Then he turned to me and said, “Outside is better than inside. #chat

He actually said, “chat”.

I think I’ll start a new segment called “Holy Shit Kids, We’re Magic.”

It’s a working title.

On the bright side, we are right. Outside is better than inside and I took this pic to document the magic.

Last night I was thinking about all the things I wanted to say. I thought to myself, if I speak out against Elon Musk he could “squash” me, because he’s that petty. That’s his modus operandi, look no further than X for evidence of that.

This morning I looked at the news and guess what? “Squash.”

That’s right. I’m a regular fucking psychic now.

Speaking of Tesla, look who I got to park next to at my therapists office today. It was even orange, my favorite color, and the color of Elon’s best bud.

Go ahead Elon, hit me with your best shot.

I found this video on Instagram the other day of an artist painting the hillsides.

A few short years ago I would have thought this was so cool. A few years ago I would have believed my eyes. With the introduction of AI and now all the deepfakes, misinformation, and blatant lies being told, I have a hard time believing anything I see, and I know I’m not the only one.

All progress is not good progress. People can talk about the benefits of AI all day long, but it’s already taking jobs, our trust, our humanity, and our minds. The cost-benefit does not equate to progress, but possibly the end of humanity as we know it.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t believe anything anymore.

And isn’t that the idea?
